For years, Americans have long lagged behind Europe for SMS adoption (primarily for billing reasons). Now, it appears that Americans lag behind Spain for Mobile Marketing. Mobile Marketing is in its infancy in the U.S. and I suspect it will continue to grow at a snail's pace. After working for American wireless companies for nine years, I became acutely aware that Americans don't want any unsolicited messages on their mobile phones, including ads.
